Ok, so I have been busting my rear to get ready before our soon-to-be-bundle-of-squishy-love to comes home. I decided that since I am a walking doughnut with veins flowing with cream, that I needed to get into shape and soon before I have to make an 18 hour plane trip, run around in China, and then try and keep up with a toddler once we make it home! So I made the decision to change our diet and begin exercising.
The exercising thing kind of crept up on me like a boogieman in the dark. I bought a treadmill in hopes that I would feel guilty about spending the money and use it .... and it worked. I did feel guilty and I strolled about 2 miles a day on it. Nothing over taxing and it kept the guilt away. Well, one day I was in the Super Discount Mega Store and I saw some very cute exercise pants. Of course the first thought that went through my head was, "Very cute!" and the second thought was, "Well, I am exercising ..." so I bought them. That night, before exercising, I put them and looked at myself. Granted, what I saw in the mirror was not the same vision I saw on the Super Discount Mega Store's sign over the exercise pants that made them look so cute, so I got mad. The next thing I know I go from walking a comfortable 18'20" mile on the treadmill to plowing down the street for 3 miles a day at a 16"00 mile! Then, BAM! I'm in a gym with a personal trainer who's kicking my butt and making me feel muscles I absolutely never knew existed (and don't even think I learned about in gym class in the 5th grade!)
Well, I have concentrated on good eating and exercising daily the entire time we have been waiting on our LID. Last week I start to get worried because it was going on 4 weeks of not hearing anything, so I get Wonder Hubby to call our agency on Monday, he's told our contact is not there. He thinks she's off and will call back tomorrow, and he does .... she's on vacation for the week! Dang, we were so worried, so when this week rolls around he calls again and speaks to our contact. She was worried too because it's now going on 5 weeks. She has not heard anything and our names are not on the CCAA's website. She calls her contact, who will call his contact and BOOM!
Today we come home from working out at the gym and we get a wonderful e-mail that states that we are LID!!!! And have been for about a month!!! Truthfully, I don't care that we didn't know the minute it happened, because now we have a month of waiting on our LOA (letter of acceptance) already out of the way!!!
Happy days; oh, happy days!
